"The fruit of prayer is a deepening of faith" -- Mother Teresa.
Prayer ListThe prayer list you see in the Sunday service bulletins is a combination of two lists, a monthly list and a permanent list. Names are taken off the monthly list at the beginning of each month, unless your request is renewed. When we remove these people's names, we say a prayer giving each into God's continual and loving care. You need to call the office each month if you want your friends or loved ones on the list.
Telephone Prayer Line
When you have an urgent request for prayer for someone who died or been seriously injured, who has had a diagnosis of a serious illness, or who will be having surgery, call the church office, 466-3100. The secretary will call three designated people, those three will call two people each, and so forth. It's a fairly efficient way to quickly have many people praying for a situation. One person keeps track of and updates the list of those who pray.
Intercessory Prayer Group
Our intercessory
prayer group meets twice a month. We pray together, then divide
the prayer list so that each person has 16 to 20 people to pray for
every day. We maintain lists of names for three months unless asked to keep them longer. Persons who are elderly or have chronic illnesses stay on until we are asked to remove them.
The confidentiality of the prayer requests and of those asking is of the greatest importance to the group, as is the commitment to daily prayer. We feel that prayer is the very essence of our faith, and praying together is the foundation of our walk with Christ. If you would like us to pray for someone, you can fill out one of the prayer request cards found in the church pews and put it in the offering plate, or contact the church office by phone or e-mail.
