OUR VESTRY
The Vestry of an Episcopal church is the same as a Board of Directors. Its members are elected by the congregation at the Annual Meeting. At St. David's the Annual Meeting is held in late January.
The Rector chairs Vestry meetings, and is a permanent member of the Vestry. Our Vestry meets on the second or third Tuesday of each month, 7-9 PM in "Lower Siberia," the meeting room downstairs next to the parish hall. Parishioners are welcome to visit Vestry meetings.
The Senior Warden works closely with the Rector and is sometimes known as the "Rector's warden." In the event of a Rector leaving or being otherwise unable to serve, the Senior Warden is in charge of the parish.
The role of the Junior Warden varies between parishes. At St. David's, the Junior Warden is known as the "people's warden," and tends to be a contact point for parishioners. However, duties may vary with the particular skills and talents he or she brings to the position.
